Blinking Nora
CAUTION: THIS MAY CONTAIN SWEARING
So after standing on the scales new years day, and a few fucks, buggers and shits later, I can announce that I have no option but to diet. I've gained a fabulous 13lbs! And reached a PB of 1lb shy of 16 stones! Now I wasn't ecstatic at being 15 stone but 16 is just heart breaking. If I carry on like this I'll be house bound by the time I'm 60! Now I'm promising no one nothing (even myself) but I shall be DIETING in an endeavour to get back to 15 stone. What I'll do after that we'll just have to see. No real plan other than cutting calories and trying to eat healthier food. You know? The usual.
I do have good news - I'm no longer a Harry Potter virgin. My children tried to get me to watch the first movie a few years ago, but I woke up at the chess playing bit (for those not in the know this is very near the end) but this year they were more successful. I was appalled he was sleeping in the cupboard (yes, I really didn't see much of the film the first time round). And up to date we've watched 4 movies. They're good. But.... THEY ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN! I obviously knew that HP was popular with adults, the books and the movies, but I still thought it was aimed at children. But absolutely not, it would scare a child shitless! I'm genuinely shocked! Do NOT let your children see these films!
Since Ellie is still home for the holidays and with Christmas over we've reinstated family theme night. On Wednesday we had Mexican. Isaac did the drinks and we had tequila slammers (they didn't slam well, lemonade a bit flat lol) but I do like tequila. Mark did starters - nachos and they were so good! His homemade salsa was bloody delicious! Ellie did burritos with all the trimmings, yum. And I made gluten free churros which were so scrummy. I was so impressed with myself. Mexican night was my favourite so far.
Even better news is that Libby has settled. We're in a nice routine of giving her porridge, rice pudding, sausages, fish, meat. She'll eat some dog food if it's in disguise. Like we took the turkey juices and gravy and mixed it with the wet dog food and she ate it. We just need to be clever. Dry food is still ignored even biscuit treats. But she's happy. Her breathing is still fast but she's coping no bother. I was really worried before Christmas but in true Libby style she's bounced back again.
Be there for others but don't leave yourself behind.
