I'm normal after all.
Reading the newspaper last Saturday I came across an article saying that 80% of people in the UK had clothing in their wardrobe that they'd never worn. Well I sure do. Apparently it's mostly because we are shopping online and if we decide we don't like it or it doesn't fit properly we can't be bothered to send it back. This week's picture shows just a selection of my unworn clothes, all still with tags, but I have more. Including bikinis, summer dresses, underwear and jackets. Of course my problem is that I buy clothing 2 or 3 sizes smaller than I am because 'I'll diet into it'. I've been doing this for years! The brown silk dress from Monsoon, on the left, was my first. It's a size 12! And I really liked it. I've had it so long that it's pretty unfashionable now. Not sure I would wear it even if I could. The blue dress from The White Company (yes I know it's not white - ask the company not me) is my most recent. It's a size 16 and I'm more an 18. At the time of purchase I felt sure I'd lose a stone and it would fit me, before summer started! Nope, never happened. Never ever happens.
But....I need to tell you something. I was packing for my holidays and I got my favourite holiday dress out that Ellie bought for me a few years ago and it doesn't fit! (PS it's been over 3 years since I had an overseas holiday). I'm gutted and devastated that I can't wear it. Now add on to that my recent weight gain and up coming weight gain, I feel I need action. I vowed never to diet again, but I can't accept putting weight on! And quite frankly I don't know of any other plausible way to lose weight! DIETING! It's making a come back. No idea how I'll get on but until the weight loss fairies visit me I'm at a loss of what else to do!
Good news though - getting my suitcase down from the loft I found inside some holiday clothes I'd completely forgotten about, bonus. Including 2 bikinis! Though I'm just thinking - I didn't try them on to see if they still fit. And it's too late now. I'm driving from Newcastle to Leeds this morning for our flight. Oh dear, I might have to sunbathe naked!! I wonder if that's even legal in Turkey? Probably not eh?
Everything we hear is an option, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.
This week's job watch is from my brother in law
Formal Title - Managing Director
What do I do - Anything and everything, but if asked by someone important, I supply equipment to the hospitality trade.
Best part - The day is never boring, everyday day brings a new surprise.
Worst part - Every day brings a new surprise, you can never plan your day in advance.
Something surprising - That I have got away with it for 21 years.
Anecdote - Once I had a call out to balls stuck in a pool table, when we opened the table up, there were a pair of false teeth stuck in the pocket, we gave them to the landlady, surprisingly she said no one had reported them lost 😳
