Busy week

Is that the first time I've missed a week? In all these years?

So last Thursday Libby had her checkup at the vets. It was the first time that she's been there with symptoms of her cancer. Though she is doing good she isn't eating like she should. Often ignoring her food or eating it then throwing up. She is deteriorating but fingers crossed she stays happy and healthy for a bit longer. We were leaving her to go to my cousin's wedding in Newcastle. My in-laws were due to babysit but their new puppy was poorly so that meant a few last minute changes. I was pretty stressed I admit but everything is good. Libby was looked after and the puppy is much better too.

The next morning (after just returning on Tuesday) we were back on the road to Newcastle. The roads were horrendous, lots of water and floods. But we got there eventually and my cousin's wedding was adorable. I wore the dress that I'd made such a fuss about, though I think only my aunt noticed! Except a stranger in the bar who told me it was beautiful! And I loved it (see pic) so that's ok.

Sunday was a move up to Alnwick for three nights with my sister and brother in law. What a lovely time we had. It was very Christmassy and I managed to buy a few more gifts. And maybe a gift or two for me! We probably ate and drank too much but what is a girl to do?

However this leads me to my weight. I was pleased to see that I only (lol - only?) put on 4 lbs in Turkey. I've not actually weighed myself since getting home from the wedding and Alnwick jolly but I feel like a heffy-lump! So yes, I have made my decision - I will go on a diet, for the millionth time. Don't get excited, it's not starting yet. 4 weeks before Christmas are you mad? That would be a recipe for disaster. I shall fully reassess in January. And the inevitable weight gain after loss? I'll figure that out when the time comes.

So after all my galavanting I'm sick! Like proper sick. Full of cold and feeling like death warmed up. My mum messaged me and told me to rest and let Mark look after me. Believe me, I'm trying but Mark is resisting. I'm telling him it's man flu but he's not the best of nurses. He is giving me hot lemsips every 4 hours so I can't complain too much.

My new sofa and my fabulous snuggle chaise has arrived and I just adore them. I shall take photos next week once I'm better, and able to titify the room and make it just so. You don't want to see it until it's just so. And my tree might be up then too. Whoop whoop!

Atishoo! Bless me.

Life is what happens when you are making other plans.

Did I do anything daft this week? Yes of course. I was pouring hot water from the kettle into my sister cup, and I completely missed the cup. I did think I'd only poured it all over the sofa but alas, I got her hand. But I did catch her hand. She is completely fine! No damage done - no burn, or blister or even redness. Phew!
