Drum roll please

I've ordered my chair! Remember the one from a few weeks ago? The one I was desperate for? It's ordered - in antique velvet in mink. I'm super happy. I've also ordered a new sofa. I have dreamed of a purple velvet sofa for a million years, and I never thought I'd actually get one! But it's also on order. I'm such a lucky girl. Now to prep the room. I spent last weekend stripping the wallpaper - I was truly knackered. Mark has prepared the walls ready for painting and I'll be doing that this weekend.

The picture is the shelf in my ensuite. It drives Mark totally bananas! But I need my stuff out, otherwise I forget to use it. I know that sounds a little crazy - who could forget to moisturise? Well me. And it's all the other bits and pieces - eye cream, serum, oil, nail cream, exfoliator etc etc. I mean it takes an awful lot of gunk to make me look this good. However, I found a solution. I sorted my tub (see photo below). Now I can just rummage in that and use what I need. Mark thinks I've had a stroke. Or that aliens have taken me. I'm not promising it'll last forever, but I really will try!

I've been inspired by my children going to uni to do their masters degrees. I've decided to join them... Well, kind of. Not quite university but college! And I don't have to go in I do it all from home. And it's not a master's, or a degree, or a proper qualification at all really - but I have got an exam at the end! I'm doing a course on intermediate word! Don't you just love to learn? I think I might do Excel next! Intermediate of course, I'm not a complete beginner. I must get my finger out as my first module is due in 2 weeks lol. Oh and I don't qualify for a student Union card which is a bit sad.

I am always ready to learn, but sometimes I don't like to be taught.

I forgot my careers addendum last week. I thought in the spirit of balance I'd do my other job... Oops, only job now.

Title - Administrative Assistant

What I do - lots on a computer (using word lol). Typing up minutes, creating monthly activity calendars, newsletters, info and notes onto the carers software tool.

Best bit - such a relaxed atmosphere

Worst bit - residents dying

Anecdote - one of our residents coming into the office without his trousers and pants on, and sitting on my chair! With a shitty bum! Help!

What might surprise you - the main reason, by far, for our residents mental health issues is alcohol abuse! (There is also schizophrenia and dementia).
