So my next step in being the Gilly I want to be is a little bit of a cheat. For both my jobs I have a uniform top (a wee anecdote later) but just wear jeans or jeggings on my bottom half. Now this is fine but when I'm not at work I want to be smarter. I don't want to continue to wear jeans and a fleece in my time off like I have been forever! I want to wear stylish and classic clothing and not look like a ?? Slob is too strong a word but you know what I mean? I suppose I just want to be a little bit glamorous in my normal life. I have some lovely, smart and flattering dresses that I've now started to wear. I try to ensure my legs are de-hairy and they are starting to get a little colour in them (milk bottle white is not a good leg colour) and I wear sandals or flip flops which is nicer than the constant trainers on my feet. Gilly just wants to look nice. Ooh, I nearly forgot the cheat bit - in warm weather it's so easy just to pull on a dress. The test will be staying smart when I need more than just a summers dress!
Why do cats love things to climb in? Both Mr B and Bacardi love a box/bag/sink to sleep in, and when they do I can't help but take a photo. And that means that my phone is just full of pictures of either the cats or Libby or both. You want to see a picture of my children? That's a little harder... But here's Mr B! Btw, bumblebee doesn't do small spaces but he loves lying in the sun in the garden! He has black fur and he boils, but he just loves it.
Right, my uniform... For the Home I wear a tunic a little like a beautician. The zip is at the back and I struggled to fasten it. I start and try to pull it up from the bottom, then my arm goes over my shoulder and I try to pull it up from there. I was so bad Mark attached ribbon to the zip so I could reach it. Anyway the zip broke so I got a new tunic, one that zips at the front. D'darr! When I tried it on I unfastened the top button, unzipped it and slipped it on like a jacket. I fastened the button and zipped it up but it just didn't feel right, it was weird and didn't hang properly. So I needed help getting dressed all over again! Mark laughed when he realised I'd missed a second button on the neck and when I slipped it on the button kept the whole of the collar behind my neck! I'm like a bairn who can't get dressed alone. I'm totally hopeless. But I have the knack now! Yay.
It always feels impossible, until it's done.
