Nails

So the next step in my crusade of self development is manicured nails. My nails are so brittle that they constantly break and they are jagged and all different lengths. Now I'm not talking about long talons painted red, that would be totally impractical - how would I put a contact lens in my eye or pick my nose without impaling my brain? I want just nice neat pretty nails. So my plan is to get a manicure and take it from there. Talking of nails I gave myself a huge shock when I suddenly realised that I most definitely didn't want painted toe nails! In the past my toes have always been painted anything from purple to pink to blue! But now it makes me feel quite queasy. Even seeing other people's painted toes makes me feel sick. How very bizarre. I've not had a pedicure since before COVID and my feet are au naturel, I guess I'm just used to it. It's no big deal but I still think it's totally weird to go off something that has been me normal for 4 decades!

Talking of decades - today is my birthday! I am now old plus a year! Doesn't feel like it mind you (doesn't feel like my birthday, I do feel old). I'm having a birthday massage and facial. Then fish and chips for supper tonight. Bliss.

You like the picture? I was working at the restaurant the other day and decided to help with the dishes as they were piling up and the dishwasher lady hadn't started her shift. It is hot being in the kitchen, and super hot next to the steamy dishwasher! My colleague lent me, what I thought was some kind of weird headphones but was actually a fan. It sits on your shoulders as you go about your business and blows cold air on you. They were totally magically! I loved them. Whatever next?

Why is your birthday cake the only food you can spit on and people still want to eat it?
