Who's Gilly?

 

This week I've decided to share some information/facts/traits that you may or may not know about me.

But first some housekeeping -

Libby has been to the vets. The vet was delighted with her condition. Her colon has just accommodated her tumour and remains quite clear. However the tumour is now grown to her rib cage and will start pushing the kidneys which may cause issues. Also, as the tumour grows out it's bringing her insides out and the skin there is more delicate and prone to rip. The vet hasn't ruled out another 3 months but thinks 4 weeks is more likely. As we approach her anniversary of diagnosis I'm just grateful for every second.

After last week's post my mum messaged, and I quote, 'Of course I still love you' thereby confirming that her youngest is still ugly but still worthy of her mother's love! Hilarious - she's going to be so mad when she reads this! 

This week's photo popped up on my phone as it was taken 8 years ago this week. My BiL was visiting and he took my meerkat toys and arranged them in different scenarios! I thought it was so funny I wanted to share.

Gosh after all that I've not much space for my intended blog. I'll start but may have to finish next week! 

1. I ONCE ALMOST DROWNED.

We were on holiday in Tobago and went for a group excursion through the rain forest. We ended at a waterfall and you could swim in the lagoon. I wanted to swim to behind the falls, like a few others had. I'm not a good swimmer but it wasn't very far at all. However I did not factor in the force of the water pushing me back and the intense spray. It prevented me from seeing and breathing! I got tired and started to go under. I've never been so scared and actually thought I'd die. But luckily hubby saw and rescued me. He swam and took me to behind the waterfall. It was amazing but will forever be remembered for my fear! 

2. I LOVE NUMBERS

My lucky number is 11 and I love to see 11:11 on the clock. I also like the time 12:34. I seek number patterns all over eg 11211 on my odometer. When I'm waiting for things I count. Like heating soup, I'll count twenty stirs before I turn the heat off. When I'm waiting for the bath to run I count one hundred swirls. And if it's not full enough I'll count another hundred. At school I loved algebra (wouldn't have a clue now) and I do sudoku when I can. I still like mental arithmetic.

3. I HAVE A WEIRD SENSE OF HUMOUR.

and it sometimes gets me in terrible trouble lol. No.6 in last week's blog about me being gorgeous? If you thought I was being serious you'd be very wrong. It's all very tongue in cheek. But you knew that? Right?

4. I WAS ONCE NEARLY RAPED...
