Who's Gilly part 2

Now where was I?....

4. I WAS ONCE ALMOST RAPED.

This is a bit of an exaggeration. On holiday in Majorca with my very good friend, aged about 18, we were out drinking (obviously). My friend met up with a lad so I left them to it. Back at the hotel (yes, this was the time I sat in reception and told everyone that the lift was broken (it wasn't) and watched everyone go up the stairs. No idea why I did this, just to be mischievous I guess! - I certainly found it hilarious.) A guy asked if I wanted a drink, and he invited me to his room. No sooner was the door shut, him standing with his back against it, and his trousers down!! Whoa! No way, get off. Anyway he apologised and let me out. But it was scary.

5. I'M A CONFIDENT DRIVER

I'll happily drive anywhere. Cities, rush hour, overseas, from one end of the country to the other. But what I don't like is not knowing where I'm going. I think this is normal for most people but what's not so normal is worrying where doors are. When Tesco built a new store I was scared to go because I didn't know how to get in - as if Tesco would hide the entrance! Going to a building for the first time (on a course or to see someone) and I panic about finding the door. I do think this is a bit strange.

6. I'M RE-INCARNATED

I don't believe in God, I'm not a spiritualist but I have a very weird affinity with the period at the start of the 20th century. From maybe 1910 to after World War II. I feel like I was there, it's comfortable and familiar. And I think I was called Elizabeth.

7. SOME QUICK FIRE FACTS

I love tactile fabrics like silk, velvet and fur. I sucked my thumb all my life until I turned 50. When I was a kid I collected the cardboard tubes inside toilet rolls. I love the colour purple. My teenage crush was David Bowie.

I've got a Blood pressure monitor. It was advised by my BP nurse because, let's face it, everything is remote nowadays. I'm not quite in the habit of taking a measurement every day, I think it's because it gives me a scare every time. Yes, no surprises it is very high in spite of the meds. Once I've got a record I can present it to the practice and see what the doctors/nurse says. I imagine 'lose weight' will be first out of their mouths. So very predictable. And that brings me on to Project Lose a Stone. First week - 4½ lbs. Last week just ½ lb. This week...? But I suspect it's not great going by the pancake I had at work (see picture).

Have a great week everyone and please come back next week for more chat.

When the well is dry, we know the worth of water.
