Another day, another hill.
We're having a night at Pittodrie House at the base of Bennachie (ben-a-he). It's not a Munro but it is a ruddy big hill. I've hiked to the summit (Mither Tap) a few times, it's tough (for me) and I don't really enjoy it so I declined today (Thursday). Instead we parked at the back o' Bennachie for a forest walk. Forest walk my arse! It's through a forest (partly) I'll agree, but it's really just another (longer route) to Mither Tap! All walks were classed as 'strenuous' - great! - but off we went. I still wasn't interested in the summit but we did go to the Oxen Craig quarry. I survived and enjoyed the walk back down hill. Hubby was unusually patient with me (I stop a lot) but he didn't complain. Libby loved it, and must have ran easily 3 times more than us. She found muddy puddles and lots of streams. She was very happy. Hubby was happy (he likes hiking up big things). The path was made of big rocks to make steps. On the way down he leap frog'd down every rock, like a kid! I warned him about his knees at his age! Needless to say he took no notice.
I'm now happy on the bed in the hotel after a hot bath looking at the view of the mountain! Rather see it from here than the top lol. We brought a bottle of prosecco but it's corked and tastes revolting! But never mind. The chocolate dipped strawberries make up for it.
You may recall that I had an interview last Friday morning? Well, I was offered the job! Very excited. 16 hours at a local care home doing admin. No start date yet so I'll keep you posted!
We also finished the decorating in the living room. Whoop. I love it, I hope you like it too. I shall post before and after pictures below for your perusal! Next is our porch/vestibule! Bring it on! PS can't post the before pictures as the wi-fi in hotel not strong/fast enough. But you can see the afters. xx
