So what's wrong with the above picture? Nothing rude about my weird toes, funny feet or wrinkly ankles please! I've lost a shoe! At the beach, yesterday morning.

We (me and Libby) have been going to the beach a lot recently because, as you know, Libby loves the beach and I love it too. I like to walk in the waves with my weird toes in the cold sea. So my shoes are always off. I often leave them near the dunes or occasionally I carry them depending on what else I have with me. Yesterday meeting my sister in law with her black lab, Harry, I left them on the dunes. The weather was bleak and the beach was virtually empty. Who'd steal a pair of shoes? Surely no one? But who'd steal just one shoe? Another blinking dog I bet! It's a proper 'fit flop', weren't cheap and are quite new! We looked everywhere but it was like finding a needle in a haystack! I had to drive home with one bare foot! But the really annoying thing is that I could have easily carried them. So the other things in my hands -

Libby's lead - but I forgot to put her collar on as it was still drying in the kitchen from the day before! So lead was pointless.

Poo bags - these are kept on the lead, but she didn't poo so again lead was pointless.

A ball thrower and extra ball - Libby carried the extra a ball and I never used the thrower once because her and Harry just ran round in circles chasing each other the whole time. So ball thrower was pointless.

My mobile - not because I was waiting for a call or message but because I wanted it to connect to my Fitbit and tell me our route, miles and steps etc. But I forgot to tell my Fitbit that I was on a walk so having my mobile was pointless. I also got no calls or messages so it was doubly pointless!

Car keys - yes I definitely needed these.

So basically today I could have had my keys in one hand and my shoes in the other! Easy! Oh if only. 

So on that sad note I shall say au revoir for this week. See you next Friday.

Alternative resolutions

  So this year, instead of the usual resolutions - lose weight, exercise more, drink water, drink less alcohol etc that fail in just a few days, I've decided to make resolutions for all the lovely people in my life!  Hubby - 2022 is the Year he wants to be more romantic. Though this is news to him. Romance is a foreign language and he has no clue. However, he does do Google! So I suggest he tries asking "Ok Google? How do I do romance?" I'm confident she can help him. Daughter - this is easy. She just needs to remember that one day she will be me!  Son - I know he can do full sentences so his resolution is to message with more than just fine/ok/good/I guess/no/yes. Also, he needs to be better at replying to messages in a timely manner and not wait all day! Home bird

  Ellie and I were invited to a charity ball last weekend by my work. The big boss bought the tickets which was great. A young 23 year old lad was raising money for a cancer charity - being 5 years in remission himself. It was a chance to get dressed up and have a nice meal with a few drinks. Ellie bumped into my sister in law on the dance floor though her aunt didn't recognise her. Now I'm not saying that Ellie scrubs up well but... We managed to stay until 11pm (I'm sure Ellie could have gone the distance) much to the shock of my sister in law (they got home past 2am I believe). It may not be a surprise to you guys but I realised how much of a home bird I am. I struggle to go out at all, my first reaction would always be to decline an offer. I'm sensible enough to know that never going out would be unhealthy and I always try to ignore any anxiety and just do it anyway! But it is hard for me.   Oh I wish I'd looked after my teeth. The truth is I have no recollection of my childhood dental routine, at all! Was I good at brushing my teeth? No idea**. But I do know I have lots of fillings and I'm paying the real cost now. I had toothache over the weekend, waking me during the night! So the dentist says my tooth (my number 5 bottom right) is dying. He gave me the option of a root canal (great) or an extraction (great). I can't have another one pulled out, honestly at this rate I'll be left with bad gums and one implanted tooth! I actually cried and the dental nurse had to give me a hug, I was so gutted. The dentist gave me antibiotics - those really horrible ones that you absolutely can't drink alcohol with, they taste foul and give you diarrhoea. Anyway two days in, the meds have kicked in and the pain has eased. I'm getting the root canal on Tuesday. Oh joys.  Whilst I'm on the subject of meds my doctor has changed my HRT.
