Summer fun

I don't want to depress you but the nights start drawing in from Monday! I know! Right! 😢

Summer is just so great. I love the sun, everything is better in the sun, except maybe trying to read your phone. It's pretty hard when the sun shines, and telling the time on my Fitbit is impossible. But apart from that everything else is better in the sun. Gin and tonic tastes better when drinking on an evening watching the sun go down. Walking along the beach with a 99 then having chips with plenty of vinegar and burning your mouth eating them too fast. Walking the dog on a warm summer afternoon. Sun bathing is also much improved on a sunny day! I do like to strip off at the first sign of summer. And I'm not alone, come on? Most of you like to enjoy the warm weather. Though I think I'm in the minority of people who literally strip off and sit in their knickers only! I'm not shy! Though when I hear a delivery van you've never seen anyone pull on a t-shirt as fast (come on guys, I'm not a flasher). And with sunny days comes BBQs. The supermarkets are full of people buying burgers, sausages and coals! And why is it always the men (usually (yes I'm stereo-typing)) that cook on the Barbie? I think it's the setting fire and cooking meat in the flames that brings out the Neanderthal in all men! And you just know going into work on a Monday morning after a hot weekend that at least half of your colleagues will have sun burn!

I do love my holidays (at least I think so, it's been a while) but to be honest it's too hot abroad. You see my garden, when it's not too windy and even if it's only about 17° or 18°? It's just perfect. I get a better tan in Scotland than away in a foreign country. All I need to sort out is someone bringing me a regular supply of cocktails, and bam! Hello summer vacation!

Libby is doing really well. We are now 7 weeks into the 6-8 weeks that the vets gave her. I feel like we're on borrowed time now but I'm very hopeful that she's got a few more weeks in her yet. She sleeps on our bed (what a difference cancer makes) and hubby recons he gets more of the bed with her down the middle. Apparently she stops me taking over the whole bed leaving hubby clinging on to his side. But he exaggerates so I take no notice.

I dropped my omelette today. All over the kitchen floor and dented my frying pan at the same time. Libby looked longingly at the pile of egg. We knew eggs, cheese and ham were fine for dogs so quickly Googled if tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms were safe too. Finally we found that they are, so she was allowed to tuck in. But as you can see from the picture, she doesn't even like the tomatoes, peppers and mushrooms! She just sucked off the egg mixture and spat them out! Typical

One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in winter.
