Distraction

Distraction, distraction, distraction has been the name of the game this week. Otherwise I'd have drowned in my thoughts.

I've been sleeping, lots, as much as I can. I've been eating, lots, as much as I can. No real surprise there though. I even bought a box of Toffifee's which I have never bought in my life before! I've been baking - today I shall try cinnamon rolls which I've never done before (I do have a kit mind you lol). I've been reading - a new Jack Reacher (best distraction ever) and I've also swapped my monthly from Woman & Home to Good Housekeeping - my life is just rock n roll. I've been trying different TV. My hubby has got me on The IT Crowd from 2006! It's funny, especially after a glass of wine or three. We've also tried Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but not so successfully. The most exciting distraction this week has been my exercises. I've started very specific exercises. And no, I'm not training for a marathon. I have started pelvic floor exercises. We all forget to do these (don't we??) And men should be doing them too actually - but don't ask me how. My pelvic muscles are so lazy that I try to squeeze them and I'm just ignored. So I have treated myself to electronic muscle stimulation pants. After 3 months I'm hoping to be able to get a ping pong ball shot across the room. I'll keep you posted.

I sent a strongly worded letter to the weather department complaining about the shocking state of the UK weather just now. They responded within days and assured me that a hot spell was coming, though they wouldn't confirm when. They did send me a 50% off voucher though. It entitles me to less rain for any 24 hour period. I'll think I'll use it today.

Thank you for all your kind messages. I know you are all thinking of us. Libby is still doing really well. Long may it last!

I know everything happens for a reason but sometimes I wish I knew what that reason was.
