Perfect home

My at home working!

We've been watching Perfect Planet. Have you seen it? The photography is amazing, it's very interesting and David Attenborough is so cool. His voice instantly de-stresses me. It's very telling how I've reacted though. When the wolves were trying to eat the snow hares, I was beside myself, hiding behind the cushion. And yet when the birds were catching fish it didn't bother me at all! Hares are cute, fish obviously aren't.

This made me think about this potentially perfect world and I did decide that the UK, Great Britain, England, Scotland, Wales etc. Whatever you call it, but this piece of land is pretty good. And I'll share with you why, in my very humble opinion.

1. We have mountains, lochs and lakes, rivers and streams, low lands, forests and woods.

2. We have a beautiful coast (really stunning in places) and even if you live right in the middle of the country you're not that far away. Think Canada!

3. We have masses of history but modern bits too.

4. We live in a democracy rather than a dictator who kills people at will.

5. We have royalty. Not commenting any more other than to say tourists love them.

6. We don't generally have earthquakes, tornados, tsunamis, erupting volcanos or hurricanes.

7. We don't have poisonous spiders or killer snakes or scorpions.

8. We all have a tap, with fresh water, that you can drink. And, most of the time, plenty of it.

9. We can pretty much grow or rear plenty different foods. Lots of vegetables, quite a few fruit, and meat, and we grow grains.

10. Fresh fish is close and so is fancy seafoods.

11. We have different religions, if you want them.

12. We have our military and police.

13. We have the NHS. I know lots of people moan about it. Waiting 2 weeks to see the doctor, or 9 months for an op. But how many £1000s would that op cost without the NHS? Imagine being sick but so worried you can't afford medication or to go to hospital?

14. We have a benefit system. Again it's maybe not fab sometimes but at least we have it. Better than nothing.

15. Now I know we famously have bad weather and the rain and floods are awful but we do have seasons, of a kind. Summers are ok sometimes. I'd hate to live in Dubai where it's 40° like every day! Too hot. Or Alaska which is too cold.

I know that lots of countries have a lot of these points too, especially in Europe. And their summers and winters are probably sunnier or snowier than us BUT everyone here speaks English! 😄

My healthy eating is improving but still needs a lot of work! I'm not giving up though and still watch the diet TV.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Kind, says the boy

I got split opinions about my bed making and so far I've not decided. But I did get this nice response from a friend and I wanted to share it with you...

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. And by the end of the day, that one task completed, will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right. And if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made, that you made. And a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow will be better. Not my words but from a US Navy admiral.

But did this Navy admiral know about bed creepy things? I shall leave it there x
