My dilemma
Now it's nothing awful but I need some advice. Do I make my bed every day or not?
So let's start with some info first. My bed has a top sheet first then the duvet. As you can see I have a panel going up through the middle so when I make the bed this must be proper straight. No wonky-ness allowed! Then my pillow needs plumping. I'm the only one with a feather pillow, hubby doesn't like them. Then I have the posh pillows that match the duvet cover. These go on the floor at night. Our heads never touch them. Once they have been successfully placed evenly I sort the throw at the bottom and final plonk the cushion in the middle (at the moment just one cushion. But sometimes up to 5 cushions.) I'm guessing no one would be surprised to hear that hubby is not impressed with cushions and throws them on the floor in disdain!
Now we have the background let's discuss the dilemma. I like to get out of bed and throw back the covers so the bed and sheets can breathe. At least 30 mins. Now this often means I've showered and dressed before the half hour is up so I leave the bed as it is. And I'm thinking so what? NO ONE else ever sees my bed. I'm only getting into it again tonight! But....
I also worry that not having a made bed is a) a waste of the pretty bedding b) makes the whole room look messy c) makes me a lesser person somehow and less successful d) what if hubby and I had an accident? Some one else would see my bed. A bit like not wearing clean knickers or matching underwear for the ambulance and doctors!
So? Do I make my bed - even if that means a special visit to my room later to do it? Or do I make it as soon as I get out, even if husband is still in it? Or just not bother as a healthy bed is most important? Thank you for your understanding. Life is tricky for us all at the moment.
I've not had a single drop of alcohol for 2 weeks! This is good but I'd love a glass of wine. This week I've been having smoothies for lunch. Not technically low calorie (almond milk, coconut yogurt, banana and cinnamon) but I'm not calorie driven at the moment. Still got Xmas chocolate that is standing between me and super healthy (I know you don't believe this one). A life time of habits is hard to drop. I still think in calories. I still want to weigh myself every day, several times a day (before breakfast, after a wee, after a poo, after eating Xmas chocolate). And I'm still watching all the new year diet programmes on TV. They are interesting but often give conflicting advice which is just silly. So I'm still plodding on. I will conquer this mountain. I'm thinking it's like someone giving me a huge pumpkin pie (yuk) and telling me to eat it all! I'd panic. But! If I just eat it slowly, just one bite at a time I'd eventually get through it all. So from now on you can think of me as a pumpkin pie!
Job still going well. I'm working for a debt charity, for those that don't know.
'What do you think success is?' asked the boy. 'To love.' said the mole.

If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. And by the end of the day, that one task completed, will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that the little things in life matter. If you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right. And if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made, that you made. And a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow will be better.

Personally I like to leave the bed to air and not trap hot air in it. Then make it if i can be bothered. But always food sheets down to allow air
